Woodrow Wilson Bridge Maryland Approaches

Completed in 2007 by American Bridge, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Maryland Approaches project involved constructing a 19-span precast segmental and steel bridge for the Maryland approach. The work included 3,322 LF of dual fixed approach spans, Maryland abutment, 36 arched piers, fender rings, steel superstructure, and demolition of the existing bridge. The arched piers were made from precast concrete, and the steel superstructure had a cast-in-place concrete deck. Segments were erected using the balanced cantilever method with temporary falsework for precise placement.
