VMS Box Culvert Emergency Repairs

Completed in 2008, the VMS Box Culvert Emergency Repairs project consisted of the repairs of 9 foot by 10-foot Box Culvert under I-75 in Pinellas county in St. Petersburg. This box culvert was damaged by fire from an accident that drained diesel fuel from the above expressway. Repaired 1000 linear feet of sides and top by chipping away damaged and sprawled concrete, repairing and replacing damaged rebar, then grouted on shotcrete and wire to build up the boxes back to a normal section. In some cases, added 6-inch to 8-inch of material. This work was completed ahead of schedule.
