Completed in 2018, the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge project at Orange/Silver Beach Avenue from City Island to Peninsula Drive in Daytona Beach, Florida, involved replacing the existing bridge and constructing the new Veteran’s Memorial Bridge. The completed bridge spanned 1,884 feet and 10 inches, featuring a design with two 11-foot travel lanes (one in each direction) and 5-foot-wide outside shoulders. Additionally, the bridge included 8-foot sidewalks separated from the travel lanes by concrete barrier walls on both sides. The structure combined prestressed simple span units with spandrel arch units, incorporating post-tensioning for added strength. The project scope included installation of 30-inch concrete pilings, roadway construction, drainage, electrical and signalization work, as well as the demolition of an existing bascule bridge.
