Completed in 1986 by American Bridge, the Veterans Memorial Bridge project consisted of a 1,094-foot, three-span steel plate girder bridge with a 440-foot main span and 327-foot-long side spans, utilizing 25-foot-deep haunched girders. The project also included 8,089 feet of approaches composed of deck plate girder, “I” beam, and AASHTO girder spans.
