Vance Creek Bridge

Completed in 1929 by American Bridge, the Vance Creek Bridge project consisted of one of two bridges fabricated and erected for the Simpson Logging Company near Shelton, Washington. AB order number F-2957 was for a six-span, 827′ bridge over Vance Creek weighing 2,150,000 pounds. It featured three 50′ deck girder spans, two 125′ deck truss spans, and one 427′ arch span. The bridge stood about 400′ high. Erection was carried out using a high-line built on timber towers, a locomotive crane, and fabrication took place at the Trenton, New Jersey plant.
