US 69 Missouri River Bridge

Completed in 2017 by American Bridge, the US 69 Missouri River Bridge project involved replacing two parallel truss bridges near Kansas City, MO, built in 1935 and 1957. The new 2,155′ river bridge includes a 1,350′ continuous steel girder unit and an 805′ pre-stressed concrete girder unit, with foundations consisting of drilled shafts and driven H-piles. The project also included roadway features, grading, drainage, and intersection improvements. AB was selected as the best value contractor in 2014, with a proposal that met MoDOT’s goals for cost, durability, and safety. The project maintained traffic during construction and featured innovative, cost-effective solutions.
