Completed in 1997 by Johnson Bros. Corporation, the Universal Studios – Islands of Adventure – Site Development project was bid on an incomplete design with a fast-track schedule. As the design was completed, directives were issued for the items that were not part of the original scope. While all the changes were being made, the completion date never changed. JBC constructed 4 bridges; MSE walls; 1,000s of linear feet of sheet pile walls lining ponds. One of the bridges was a Bascule bridge designed by EC Driver. JBC won the distinguished Marvin Black Partnering Award for this project. Full Site Development including restructure, buildings, concrete structures. Additional scope of work included clearing; grubbing; erosion/ sedimentation control; mass earthwork/fine grading; stormwater management systems; roadways/alleyways; parking facilities; sidewalks; all gravity and pressure utility systems; lift stations; electrical ductbank; grassing & sodding, lift stations, retention ponds and wetland relocation.
