Treasure Island – Palm and Capri Bridges

Completed in 2015, the Treasure Island – Palm and Capri Bridges project consisted of the construction of the bascule bridge, which is a Four-Leaf Trunnion and Hydraulic Drive System bridge. This bridge was ranked #6 of Top 10 Bridges in Construction in 2007 by Roads & Bridges Magazine. Johnson Bros. received the maximum early completion incentive bonus allowed by Contract. This award-winning project received the ABC Florida Gulf Coast Chapter Excellence in Construction Public Works award for projects over $20 M. This project also won the FTBA Best in Construction Major Bridge Award. During this time the project team responded to an Emergency Repair Project for I-375 in St. Petersburg, FL and replaced 5 spans of a damaged bridge in 19 days.
