Completed in 1991 by Mole Constructors, the Trans-Missouri River Tunnel project involved around 14,886 linear feet of 128-inch diameter tunnel, with shafts reaching depths of 340 feet using freezing methods. The excavation cut through shale, sandstone, and limestone containing methane. The tunnel housed 90-inch PCCP and was filled with cellular concrete. A 128-inch Lovat Tunnel Boring Machine was employed for the task.
