Three Nations Bridge (North Channel)

Completed in 2011, the Three Nations Bridge (North Channel) project was the first of four phases replacing the existing bridge. It involved constructing three in-river piers with two 8’ drilled shafts, two 6’ diameter columns, and conventional pier caps with bridge seats. The substructure included 2.4m diameter caissons socketed 6m into bedrock. Column heights ranged from 9.6m to 11.5m, and pier caps measured 12.2m x 2.4m x 1.6m with a sloped surface.
