Stevens Street Bridge

Under contract with Holmes & Murphy Construction, American Bridge manufactured this 567 ton (514,000kg), 267’ (81.3m) long by 35’ (10.4m) wide, two-lane roadway bridge in its Coraopolis shops. Each truss was assembled in the shop for fit, disassembled, painted with a three-coat system and shipped to the job site. The longitudinal and overhead transverse trusses were manufactured from rolled shapes and welded steel boxes. The transverse floor beams are manufactured from welded three-plate girders. The bridge was erected by Multiphase Erectors on barges and floated into place.
