Completed in 2002 by Johnson Bros. Corporation, the SR 679 Bridge across Bounces Pass to Ft. Desoto State Park project consisted of the construction of a low-level causeway AASHTO bridge replacement over Bounces Pass. The low water level footing system that stripped from the bottom designed in-house, which expedited the schedule. Additional scope of work included piling; concrete; turbidity; rubble rip rap; gabions; maintenance of traffic (MOT); environmentally sensitive area; etc.
