Completed in 2002 by American Bridge, the Spuyten-Duyvil Bridge Emergency Repairs No. 1 project involved realigning a swing bridge knocked out of alignment by a barge. The bridge, relying on bevels in the rim plate for alignment, was jacked vertically and longitudinally to restore position. The process was repeated after the bridge recoiled during testing, successfully reopening the bridge.
