Completed in 1987 by Mole Constructors, the Southeast Waterline Distribution Improvements Contract No. 1 project encompassed approximately 10,150 linear feet of 122-inch tunnel, employing a modified Lovat 117-inch / 122-inch Tunnel Boring Machine. The tunnel was excavated through layers of silty sand and clays at a depth of 40 feet, with a cellular concrete annulus backfill.
