Completed in 2013 by Oscar Renda Contracting, the Southeast Water Purification Plant Project consisted of the construction of 80 MGD surface water treatment plant expansion in Houston, Texas and required clearing, mass grading and excavation, structural concrete placement and site restoration. Work consists of: installation of 10,000 linear feet of buried piping, construction of two parallel raw water lines and metering stations to feed the proposed Treatment Module 2, construction of two flash mixing chambers, construction of four flocculation/sediment treatment trains, construction of seven new filters including backwash and air scour system. Construction of new Backwash waste pump station no. 2 and renovation of pump station no. 1, Construction of new Transfer Pump Station No. 2, and modifications to station no. 1, Construction of one 13.4 MG ground storage tank, Installation of circular baffles and replacement of existing high service pumps. Construction of new Chemical Feed building No. 2, expansion of sludge thickening facilities, construction of electrical/control complex, installation of power monitoring system, installation of ATO for existing switchgear MVS-2, Installation of SCADA system, security system, temporary field office facilities and site work.
