Completed in 2015 by Southland Contracting, the Shepherd Drive Drainage and Paving Improvements Project consisted of the removal of existing monolithic and reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) storm sewers and the installation of new storm sewers ranging in size form 24-inch to 84-inch, which included 1,340 linear feet of 72-inch RCP. The project scope also included an outfall structure, pipe culverts and bank stabilization at Buffalo Bayou including storm inlets, manholes and junction boxes by open cut and tunnel construction methods. Removal and replacement of existing roadway along Shepherd Drive to consist of 32,000 square yards of 11-inch concrete paving, 34,000 square yards of 8-inch cement stabilized sand subgrade, 7,000 square yards of asphalt paving with 4-inch black base. Removal and replacement existing utilities, installation of manholes and removal and replacement of existing roadway along Shepherd Drive.
