Completed in 1959 by American Bridge, the Seaway International Bridge – South Channel project consisted of the fabrication and erection of all superstructure and approaches, including towers, cables, suspended decks, and concrete roadway surface for this three-span, 3,479-foot suspension bridge crossing the main navigational channel (South Channel) between Cornwall Island, Ontario, Canada, and Rooseveltown, New York. Cables were fabricated from 19 x 2 1/8″ galvanized helical strands and erected by cableway.
