Salado Creek/Dos Rios WRC Interceptor

Completed in 2004 by Southland Contracting, the Salado Creek/Dos Rios WRC Interceptor Project consisted of installing four 35-foot tunnel shafts over 100 feet deep and a 15-foot diameter EPBM Tunnel under the San Antonio River. Two 1,200 linear feet crossings were made. The method of primary liner was steel ring beam and wood lagging. Groundwater was flowing at a rate between 20 to 400 gallons per minute in the tunnel. Eight well points were set up around the shafts to pump water. 840 linear feet of 15 ft diameter tunnel liner plate.
