Completed in 1965 by American Bridge, the Rio Grande Bridge (Taos Gorge Bridge) project consisted of the fabrication of three (3) steel truss spans for a new 1,272-foot arched deck truss bridge, 650 feet over the Rio Grande River, for the New Mexico Department of Transportation. The spans totaled 1,200 feet, with two 36-foot I-beam approach spans at each end of the bridge.
