Completed in 1982 by American Bridge, the Pekin Bridge project consisted of a nine-span bridge over the Illinois River, featuring a 1,320-foot three-span steel box girder river section and steel plate girder approaches. The orthotropic roadway deck included longitudinal and transverse welds.
