Completed in 2004 by American Bridge, the Orlando Airport Intermodal Transit System project involved designing and constructing an 18-span, 2,612′ elevated guideway for automated people-mover trains, including a 100′ at-grade portion. The elevated guideway featured 16 spans of post-tensioned, cast-in-place concrete box girders, one span of steel plate girders, and one steel beam span. The project also included designing an additional 25 spans for future construction. American Bridge self-performed all foundation, concrete, steel fabrication, and erection work.
