Northwest Drainage Improvements Project

Completed in 2013 by Southland Contracting, the Northwest Drainage Improvements Project consisted of the construction of a drainage system to provide relief from Maxey Park Lake (Lake 43) in central Lubbock to Yellowhouse Draw of the Brazos River. This project included jack and bore of 1,216 linear feet of ten by ten-ft reinforced concrete box tunnel. Four shafts were excavated for the installation of the tunnel.
