Completed in 2011 by American Bridge, the North Channel Bridge Three Nations Bridge project was the first phase of replacing the existing bridge. Work included constructing three in-river piers with drilled shaft caissons, concrete columns, and conventional pier caps. Drilled shafts were socketed into bedrock, with subcontractor Case Foundation performing the caisson work.
