Completed in 1969 by American Bridge the North Approach to Fort Duquesne Bridge project consisted of fabricating and erecting a 45-span, 4,557′ (1,389m) double-deck elevated approach with orthotropic steel box tubs and cantilevered box bents. Total steel weight was 5,656 tons (5,142mt).
