Completed in 2016 by Southland Contracting, the North Acres Wastewater Tunnel Project consisted of furnishment and installation of approximately 120 linear feet of 15-inch and 24-inch wastewater pipeline by open-cut method, approximately 2,690 linear feet of 18-inch and 24-inch diameter wastewater pipeline by other than open-cut, manholes and appurtenant work. Allowable trenchless construction methods include approximately 265 linear feet of tunnel by hand mining; approximately 2,165 linear feet of tunnel by hand mining or Tunnel Boring Machine; approximately 260 linear feet of tunnel by hand, Tunnel Boring Machine or jack & bore.
