Completed in 1912 by American Bridge, the Norfolk Southern Kentucky River High Bridge project consisted of constructing a new double-track deck truss bridge (3 x 353′) on 160′ towers around the existing 1877 structure, 280′ above the river. Train service continued on the old bridge during construction.
