Under contract to Sealand Construction, American Bridge manufactured this 573 ton (520,000kg), 28 foot high, 160 foot (51.2m) long, 75 foot (23m) wide, four-lane roadway truss bridge in its Coraopolis Shops. Each truss was completely assembled in the shop for fit, disassembled, painted with a three-coat system, and shipped to the job site. The longitudinal through trusses and overhead transverse trusses are all made of rolled steel shapes. This bridge crosses the Erie Canal in upper New York State.
