Completed in 2001 by American Bridge, the New Lots Line Elevated Transit Line project involved the structural rehabilitation of 12,672 feet of elevated transit line in Brooklyn. Work included replacing steel components, rehabilitating expansion joints, strengthening steel columns, replacing track and roadbed, and station improvements. The project required extensive coordination with businesses, utilities, and the NYPD for traffic control. All work was done from scissor lifts, during scheduled track outages with trains running up to 115 trips daily. American Bridge self-performed the structural steel work, with additional steel replacement added based on condition surveys.
