Naval Station Gate 5 Replacement

Completed in 2005 by American Bridge, the Naval Station Gate 5 Replacement project involved upgrading and relocating Gate 5 at Naval Station Norfolk to meet Combating Terrorism (CT) security measures. Work included security gates, reinforced fencing, a new hardened guardhouse, CCTV and LAN systems, pump station, elevated control islands, vehicle barriers, and site lighting. The project also provided three inbound and two outbound traffic lanes, a back entrance for bus inspections, a back-up generator, and relocated sidewalks. American Bridge completed the project on time with no extensions, earning an award for performance excellence.
