Naval Reserve Lift Bridge Alteration

Completed in 2005 by American Bridge, the Naval Reserve Lift Bridge Alteration project involved increasing vertical clearance and rehabilitating the operating machinery of a three-span bridge. The center 240′ lift span and 200′ towers were modified to provide a 150′ vertical clearance. The existing span was removed, rehabilitated, and reinstalled with a new floor system and grid deck. The project also included the replacement and rehabilitation of operating machinery, reconditioning sheaves, adding new counterweights, and installing new electrical and control systems. American Bridge self-performed all structural and mechanical work.
