Completed in 1967 by American Bridge, the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet Bridge Concrete Spans project consisted of a 45-span bridge including 20 spans (1,600′) of prestressed concrete girders, 22 spans (3,040′) of steel plate girders, and a 3-span (1,248′) truss with a tied arch main span.
