Completed in 1967 by American Bridge, the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet Bridge project consisted of a 45-span bridge with 1,600′ of prestressed concrete girders, 3,040′ of steel plate girders, and a 1,248′ three-span truss including a tied arch main span.
