Completed in 1918 by American Bridge, the Metropolis Bridge project consisted of constructing a seven-span, 2-track railroad bridge with six through trusses (723′, two 556′, 555′, 557′, 304′) and one deck truss (246′). The 723′ Pratt Truss was the longest simple span truss at the time, constructed on falsework.
