Marine Parkway Bridge Repairs and Replacements

Completed in 2009 by American Bridge, the Marine Parkway Bridge Repairs project involved structural steel repairs to the deck truss bridge and its lift-span. Work included replacing upper laterals, sway frame members, 7,500 lacing bars, chord batten plates, bracing gusset plates, and reinforcing floor beams, towers, and trusses. The project also involved painting and fabricating 516 tons of repair steel while maintaining traffic flow. The 3,842’ (1,171m) bridge, including its 540’ (165m) lift span, was originally built by American Bridge in 1937.
