Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched November 24, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-842 on December 19, 1944. During World War II, USS LST-842 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in the Okinawa Gunto operation (Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, May 16 to June 29, 1945). USS LST-842 earned one battle star for World War II service. Following World War II USS LST-842 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East from September 9 to 25, 1945. Decommissioned on December 30, 1947. Transferred to the Republic of the Philippine, January 22, 1948, named BRP Pampanga. Struck from the Naval Register, date unknown.
