Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched November 20, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-841 on December 18, 1944. During World War II, USS LST-841 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in the Okinawa Gunto operation (Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, April 18 to June 29, 1945). USS LST-841 earned one battle star for World War II service. Following World War II USS LST-841 was assigned to Occupation and China service in the Far East for the following periods: September 12 to October 20, 1945 and November 6, 1945 to February 23, 1946. Decommissioned on June 25, 1946. Struck from the Naval Register June 23, 1947. Final Disposition, sold for commercial operation, January 5, 1948, to the California Co., New Orleans, LA.
