Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched September 26, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-829 on October 23, 1944. During World War II, USS LST-829 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in the Okinawa Gunto operation (Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, March 26 to April 29, 1945). USS LST-829 earned one battle star for World War II service. Following World War II USS LST-829 was assigned to Occupation Service from September 20 to November 5, 1945. Decommissioned on April 29, 1946. Struck from the Naval Register date unknown. Final Disposition, transferred to the Maritime Commission for disposal, March 19, 1948, fate unknown.
