Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched August 26, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-765 on September 18, 1944. During World War II, USS LST-765 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in the Okinawa Gunto operation (Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, May 15 to June 22, 1945). USS LST-765 earned one battle star for World War II service. Following World War II LST-765 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East from 20 September to 5 December 1945. Decommissioned on April 29, 1946. Struck from the Naval Register on July 3, 1946. Final Disposition, sold for scrapping on December 16, 1947, to B. T. Jones.
