Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched August 3, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-760 on August 28, 1944. During World War II, USS LST-760 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in two campaigns including Iwo Jima operation (Assault and occupation of Iwo Jima, February 19 to 26, 1945) and the Okinawa Gunto operation (Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, April 1 to June 10, 1945). USS LST-760 earned two battle stars for World War II service. Following World War II USS LST-760 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East for the following periods: September 9 to 25, 1945; October 12 to November 1, 1945; and November 18 to December 8, 1945. Decommissioned on May 24, 1946. Struck from the Naval Register on July 3, 1956. Final disposition, sold for scrapping on May 29, 1948, to Bethlehem Steel Co., Bethlehem, PA
