Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched July 15, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-756 on August 8, 1944. During World War II, USS LST-756 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in two campaigns including Iwo Jima operation (Assault and occupation of Iwo Jima, February 19 to 25, 1945) and Okinawa Gunto operation (Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, April 1 to June 30, 1945). USS LST-756 earned two battle stars for World War II service. Following World War II USS LST-756 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East for the following periods: September 6 to 23, 1945; January 1 to 21, 1946; and February 2 to March 1, 1946. Decommissioned on April 5, 1946. Struck from the Naval Register on April 17, 1946. Final Disposition, sold on September 19, 1946, to Construction Power & Merchandising Co., Brooklyn, NY., fate unknown.
