Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched June 16, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-678 on June 30, 1944. Redesignated USS Presque Isle (APB-44) on March 31, 1945. During World War II USS Presque Isle (APB-44) was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Following World War II USS Presque Isle (APB-44) was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East from September 20, 1945 to February 14, 1946. USS Presque Isle was assigned to Joint Task Force 1, Task Unit 1.8.3 (Service Group – Dispatch Boat and Boat Pool for Operation Crossroads the atomic bomb tests at Bikini Atoll in July 1946. Decommissioned on April 18, 1947. Laid up in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet, Charleston Navy Yard. Struck from the Naval Register on May 1, 1959. Transferred to Indonesia, renamed KRI Teluk Ratai (509). Disposed of by Indonesian Navy, date unknown. Final Disposition, fate unknown.
