LST 677

Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched June 16, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-677 on June 30, 1944. Reclassified, Landing Ship Tank (Modified) LST(M)-677 on January 21, 1945. Redesignated and named USS Yolo (APB-43) on March 31, 1945. During World War II USS Yolo (APB-43) was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in the Okinawa Gunto operation (Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, April 1 to June 28, 1945). USS Yolo (APB-43) earned one battle star for World War II service. Following World War II USS Yolo (APB-43) performed occupation duty in the Far East. Decommissioned on August 9, 1946 and laid up at the Atlantic Reserve Fleet Norfolk Group. Struck from the Naval Register on May 1, 1959. Final Disposition, sold for scrapping on February 6, 1960, to the J. C. Berkwit Co., New York, N.Y.
