Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched May 26, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-674 on June 19, 1944. During World War II USS LST-674 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in the Okinawa Gunto operation (Invasions of Kerama Retto, Ryukyu Islands, March 26 to 30, 1945; Invasion of Keise Shima, Ryukyu Islands, March 31, 1945; Invasion of Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands April 1 to June 21, 1945; and Invasion of Ie Shima, Ryukyu Islands April 16 to 18, 1945). USS LST-674 earned one battle star for World War II service. Following World War II USS LST-674 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East for the following periods: September 2 to December 1, 1945 and December 18 to 23, 1945. Decommissioned on May 14, 1946. Struck from the Naval Register on June 19, 1946. Final Disposition, sold for scrapping on May 26, 1948, to Bethlehem Steel Co., Bethlehem, PA.
