Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched April 27, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-667 on May 20, 1944. During World War II USS LST-667 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in five campaigns including Western New Guinea operation (Morotai landings, September 15, 1944), Leyte operations (Leyte landings – Tacloban, October 16 to 30 and November 9 to 29, 1944), Luzon operation (Lingayen Gulf landings, January 4 to 18, 1945), Consolidation and capture of the Southern Philippines (Visayan Island landings, Iloilo, Panay Island and Pulupandan, Negros Island, March 29 to April 1, 1945), and Borneo operation (Tarakan Island operation, April 30 to May 3, 1945). USS LST-667 earned five battle stars for World War II service. Following World War II USS LST-667 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East for the following periods: September 15 to October 20, 1945; November 12 to 25, 1945; December 23, 1945 to January 8, 1946; and January 20 to February 26, 1946. Decommissioned on June 5, 1946. Struck from the Naval Register on July 3, 1946. Final Disposition, sold on December 11, 1947, to Learner Co., Oakland, CA. for scrapping.
