LST 662

Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched April 5, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-662 on May 2, 1944. During World War II USS LST-662 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in three campaigns including Western Caroline Islands operation (Capture and occupation of southern Palau Islands, Peleliu, September 6 to October 14, 1944), Manila Bay-Bicol operations (Zambales-Subic Bay, January 29 to 30, 1945) and Okinawa Gunto operation (Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, April 1 to 28, 1945). USS LST-662 earned three battle stars for World War II service. Decommissioned on December 19, 1945. Struck from the Naval Register on January 8, 1946. Sold on June 25, 1946, to Arctic Circle Exploration, Inc., of Seattle, WA. converted to a fish factory processing ship, named MV Neva. Final Disposition, fate unknown.
