Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched January 30, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-654 on March 20, 1944. During World War II USS LST-654 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Following World War II USS LST-654 was assigned to Occupation and China service in the Far East for the following periods: September 2, 1945 to June 12, 1946 (Navy Occupation Service Medal) and September 2, 1945 to June 12, 1946 (China Service Medal). Decommissioned on June 12, 1946. Struck from the Naval Register on July 19, 1946. Final Disposition, transferred to the State Department for disposition, fate unknown.
