LST 275

Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched August 22, 1943. Commissioned USS LST-275 on October 5, 1943. During World War II USS LST-275 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in two campaigns including Marianas Islands operation (Capture and occupation of Saipan, June 15 to July 28, 1944) and Tinian capture and occupation (July 24 to August 10, 1944). USS LST-275 earned two battle stars for World War II service. Following World War II USS LST-275 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East from February 1 to 26, 1946. Dicommissioned on August 16, 1946. Sold for scrapping on April 5, 1948 to Bethlehem Steel Co. in Bethleham, PA.
