Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched August 15, 1943. Commissioned USS LST-274 on September 28, 1943. During World War II USS LST-274 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in two campaigns including Marshall Islands operation (Capture and occupation of Kwajalein and Majuro Atolls, January 31 to February 8, 1944) and Marianas Islands operation (Capture and occupation of Saipan, June 15 to July 28, 1944). USS LST-274 earned two battle stars for World War II service. Dicommissioned on May 6, 1946. Sold to Alexander Shipyard, Inc., New Orleans, LA., for conversion to commercial service on June 29, 1948. Final disposition, fate unknown.
