Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched July 18, 1943. Commissioned USS LST-270 on September 8, 1943. During World War II USS LST-270 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in four campaigns including Marshall Islands operation (Capture and occupation of Kwajalein and Majuro Atolls, April 21 to 28, 1944), Hollandia operation (April 21 to 28, 1944), Marianas Islands operation (Capture and occupation of Saipan, July 21 to 28, 1944), and Leyte operation (Leyte landings, October 20, 1944). USS LST-270 earned four battle stars for World War II service. Dicommissioned date unknown. Sold on May 21, 1950. Final disposition, fate unknown.
