Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched July 4, 1943. Commissioned USS LST-269 on August 27, 1943. During World War II USS LST-269 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Participated in four campaigns including Hollandia operation (April 21 to 28, 1944), Marianas Islands operation (Capture and occupation of Saipan, June 15 to 25, 1944), Leyte operation (Leyte landings, October 20-21, 1944), and Manila Bay-Bicol operations (Nasugbu, January 31, 1945). USS LST-269 earned four battle stars for World War II service. Following World War II USS LST-267 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East for the following periods: October 25 to December 8, 1945 and December 30, 1945 to February 7, 1946. Dicommissioned on February 7, 1946 and assigned to Commander Naval Forces Far East (COMNAVFE) Shipping Control Authority for Japan (SCAJAP) redesignated Q047. Transferred to the Maritime Administration on May 28, 1948. Final disposition, sold for scrapping on May 28, 1948 to Bethlehem Steel Co., Bethlehem, PA.
